PARTEX – Heats & Shrinks

TECHNICAL Specification

Partex heat shrink tubing is manufactured from cross linked polyolefin material providing excellent insulation and mechanical protection
It typically has a shrink ratio of 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 allowing it to fit a wide range of cable diameters
Operating temperature range is usually from minus 55 up to 125 degrees Celsius with higher ratings available for special grades
Shrink temperature is around 90 to 120 degrees Celsius ensuring quick and uniform shrinking during installation
It offers high dielectric strength for reliable electrical insulation in low and medium voltage applications
The material is flame retardant with a common rating of UL224 VW 1 ensuring safety in electrical environments
Heat shrink tubing is resistant to chemicals oils moisture and abrasion which increases durability in harsh conditions
Available in different colors for identification and phase marking of cables
Adhesive lined versions provide additional sealing against water and environmental contaminants
Products typically comply with international standards such as UL RoHS and IEC ensuring quality safety and environmental compliance

Overview & Usage

Partex heat shrink tubing is used to insulate and protect electrical wires and cable joints in low and medium voltage applications
It is commonly applied in control panels and switchgear to cover exposed conductors and improve safety
Used for cable jointing and termination to provide mechanical strength and environmental sealing
Adhesive lined types are used in outdoor or underground installations to prevent moisture and water ingress
Widely used in industrial plants where cables are exposed to oils chemicals and abrasion
Applied in automotive and transportation sectors for wiring harness protection and bundling
Used in telecommunications and data systems to protect and organize signal cables
Helps in color coding and phase identification of cables for easier maintenance and troubleshooting
